What is MailChimp?

MailChimp is a platform for marketing automation which provides email advertising service. Using MailChimp, 12,000 emails can be sent in a month and up to 2,000 contacts can be saved in a month for free. Not only that, if more is required, the level of user can be upgraded by paying a certain amount per month (usually £10). Some extra features are also available, but at the beginning, the free version is more than enough.

Why MailChimp for the Contact Form 7?

While building a successful sales channel, it is very important to capture the user’s data and building email lists. An easy and effective way to add visitors to your mailing list is the Contact Form 7 MailChimp integration. When anyone fills and submits a form, they are automatically added to MailChimp. How to set MailChimp (basic setup):

The following instructions are followed to set up Contact form 7 MailChimp:

First: Enable the Debug Logger including the MailChimp Extension tab, and click SAVE. It will help you to record some of the issues experienced with this specific form.

Second: Based on your present form settings, know your available mail-tags. These mail-tags may be different depending on how you named your form fields earlier.

Third: After knowing the mail-tags, place them in the right fields. The basic setup has 2 fields available for that purpose.

Fourth: Input your MailChimp API Key and your MailChimp List ID in the correct fields. Then, Click SAVE.

Fifth: At this stage, all your basic settings are ready for you to test the form. Now go to the front-end and test your form.

Finally, when you send your form, you should see the classic OK response from contact from 7 like this: “Your message was sent successfully, thanks”.

Now the debugged logs have to check and after that, the reply from the MailChimp.com about your settings can be seen on the display.
